Play Move Improve supports early childhood services through professional learning, implementation support and ongoing coaching. The pathway is different depending on whether your team needs the foundations first or is ready for advanced coaching.
Important for Victorian services
You may not see Play Move Improve listed as a separate program name.
Our service-based support is delivered as coaching. When planning your School Readiness Funding, look for the Coaching item on the School Readiness Funding Menu.
Our 2027 Advanced Coaching model is designed around ongoing educator capability building: observing what is happening, trying practical strategies, reflecting on what changes and using live coaching to decide what to trial next.
The School Readiness Funding Menu currently includes Coaching as a Menu item.
Play Move Improve's 2027 service is structured as ongoing coaching and educator capability building rather than another series of stand-alone webinars.
Your service should still make sure the purchase aligns with its current SRF plan and any applicable Department purchasing requirements.
Play Move Improve is included on the 2026 Kindy Uplift catalogue.
We have not yet received confirmation about our inclusion on the 2027 Kindy Uplift catalogue.

New teams build the foundational knowledge first. Teams that have already completed the foundations can move into Advanced Coaching.

For services that have not yet completed the Play Move Improve foundational professional learning.

For services that completed the 2026 Play Move Improve learning, or have completed the foundation library.
What we mean by coaching
The 2027 program is not six disconnected webinars. Educators use the time between sessions to notice what is happening in everyday practice, make a practical change and reflect on what happens next.
Their submissions help shape the next live coaching session, so the coaching responds to the patterns, questions and implementation challenges participating services are actually experiencing.
Supporting your SRF priorities
The focus of coaching should connect with the needs identified in your service's School Readiness Funding plan.
Build educator capability around emotional regulation, co-regulation, sensory processing, resilience, executive function, participation and the conditions that help children feel ready to engage.
Notice barriers within routines, environments and play experiences, then use practical coaching to explore changes that may support greater participation.
Strengthen educator observation and reasoning while also giving services practical resources to support conversations with parents and carers.
Lower-cost service option
Some services may not currently have the budget or need for the full Advanced Coaching program but still want professionally developed resources they can share with families.
The Parent & Family Resource Hub will provide practical family education around areas such as play, movement, independence, resilience, routines, screen habits and regulation at home.
This option provides family education resources only and does not include the six live coaching sessions or private service review.

Victorian School Readiness Funding is planned around the needs and priorities identified by each service. Funding arrangements, Menu requirements and purchasing requirements can also change.
The School Readiness Funding Menu currently includes Coaching, but your service should still confirm that the proposed Play Move Improve coaching aligns with its SRF plan and current Department requirements.
If you are unsure, speak with your Early Childhood Improvement Branch or relevant funding contact before committing funds.
For Queensland services, our confirmed status at this stage is inclusion on the 2026 Kindy Uplift catalogue. We have not yet received confirmation regarding the 2027 catalogue.
Simple next steps
If your educators have not completed the foundational PMI learning, start with the $2,790 Professional Learning Library.
Teams that completed the foundations can enter the 2027 Advanced Coaching program and focus on implementation rather than repeating introductory content.
Victorian services can consider the SRF Coaching menu item. Queensland services should use the current Kindy Uplift arrangements applicable to their service.
