Play Move Improve

Play Move Improve 2027

You've learned the foundations. Now let's use them.

The 2027 Play Move Improve program moves beyond another year of pre-planned webinar topics.

Educators observe what is actually happening in their service, trial practical strategies, reflect on what changes and submit what they are noticing. Robyn then uses those real situations to shape the live coaching throughout the year.

Professional learning that moves

No more watching a webinar and wondering what to do next.

Most experienced educators already know many useful strategies. The difficult part is knowing what to notice, what to try first, why a strategy may not have worked, and what to change next.

01

Observe

Notice what is happening in everyday practice.

02

Try

Choose one practical change or strategy to trial.

03

Reflect

Notice what changed, what stayed the same and what surprised you.

04

Submit

Share your observations through the coaching portal.

05

Coach

Live coaching responds to patterns and real situations educators are submitting.

You do not need another year of the same webinar topics.

2027 Advanced Coaching

Six live sessions shaped by the work educators do between them.

The live sessions are not six pre-selected topics. They are Practice Case Coaching sessions informed by what participating educators have observed, tried and submitted.

Between live sessions

Educators receive a practical email prompt and complete a short implementation task through the coaching portal.

  • What are you noticing?
  • When does it happen?
  • What have you already tried?
  • What is one strategy you could trial?
  • What changed after you tried it?
  • What are you still unsure about?

During live coaching

Robyn reviews the patterns across educator submissions and uses the live session to unpack the situations services are actually facing.

  • Why might this be happening?
  • Is the environment contributing?
  • Does the child need a different entry point?
  • Is the team responding consistently?
  • What could educators change?
  • What should we trial next?
This is educator coaching, not individual child therapy.

Practice Case Coaching strengthens educator observation, reasoning, planning and implementation. It does not provide individual clinical assessment, diagnosis or therapy.

School Readiness Funding

Using SRF for coaching?

Play Move Improve's service support is delivered as coaching. When planning School Readiness Funding, look for the Coaching item on the School Readiness Funding Menu rather than searching for Play Move Improve as a separate named program.

Services should continue to follow their current SRF plan, purchasing requirements and any advice from their Early Childhood Improvement Branch. SRF arrangements are being updated for the 2027–28 planning period.

Queensland Kindy Uplift

Planning for Kindy Uplift?

Play Move Improve is included in the 2026 Kindy Uplift catalogue. We will update our 2027 information once the 2027 arrangements are formally confirmed.

We are not throwing away the learning from 2026.
