Workforce Readiness Scorecard

How ready is your workforce to support regulation, participation and inclusion consistently?

Use this scorecard to reflect on whether your team has the practical confidence, shared language and systems needed to support children in everyday settings.

This is a planning reflection tool. It is not a clinical assessment, government readiness test, audit or official Thriving Kids policy tool.

Important: This scorecard is designed to support internal workforce planning. It does not provide funding advice, legal advice, government implementation advice, clinical assessment or diagnosis.

Complete the scorecard

Answer based on how your team works now, not how you hope it will work later.

There are no perfect answers. The purpose is to see where capability is already strong and where your workforce may need more shared language, practical training or implementation support.

What to do with your result

Use the score as a conversation starter, not a pass or fail.

The result is simply a structured way to identify where workforce capability may already be strong and where staff may need more support.

If your signal is strong

Strengthen consistency and sustainability

Focus on onboarding, shared language, documentation and maintaining a consistent approach across staff, programs or sites.

Explore the structured pathway
If your signal is developing

Build a shared framework

Your workforce may benefit from practical regulation and inclusion training so support does not depend on individual staff confidence.

Explore training options
If there are priority gaps

Plan focused capability support

Use the priority areas you selected to identify which parts of regulation, movement, sensory, play, participation or family communication need strengthening first.

Discuss team training

For leadership teams

Your lowest scoring questions may be more useful than your overall percentage.

The priority gaps show where staff confidence or organisational systems may be least consistent. Those areas can become the basis for training, onboarding and workforce development planning.

Use the result to discuss

  • Where staff confidence varies most
  • Which situations staff find hardest to respond to
  • Where family communication feels uncertain
  • Whether staff share the same language
  • Which supports depend on experienced individuals
  • Where practical training would have the strongest value

Then decide whether you need

  • A focused team workshop
  • Training around one capability area
  • A shared regulation and inclusion framework
  • Organisation-wide workforce development
  • Structured training
  • Ongoing implementation support
